Types of Solar Panel Systems We Offer
Throughout East Texas, we offer three types of solar panel systems:
All three of these solar panel installations use solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to produce DC (direct current) electricity. Click on the links above to learn more about each time of solar panel system, or keep reading below to learn more specifically about off-grid solar power systems.
How Off-Grid Solar Systems Work
In off-grid solar power systems, DC power is sent to a battery charge controller. This controller will charge the batteries and prevent overcharging. Then, this DC power (from both the solar panels and the batteries) is routed to (1) DC circuits in the house or (2) an inverter that converts DC to AC (alternating current) electricity. Finally, the AC power will be diverted to various AC circuits throughout your East Texas home.
This solar panel system relies heavily on solar battery backups. If your battery bank is too small to compensate for periods without sunshine, then your home will simply not have electricity — because you’re relying exclusively on solar power.
Benefits of Off-Grid Solar Systems
Many people choose to live off-grid in wild, unexplored parts of the northwest U.S. Here in East Texas, however, reasons can vary immensely for wanting to install an off-grid solar system. Whatever your reasoning, however, the benefits are immense:
- Avoid power outages
- Customize installation
- Decrease negative effects on the environment
